what I believe…

I’ve devoted my life to mastering the art of singing, and here’s what I’ve learned along the way:
To sing is to breathe love into the world.
When we co-create art where each artist’s unique creative gifts are celebrated, music & theater become a model for greater world peace.
When we give voice to the lost, the broken, the forgotten, and the invisible through our performances, we amplify others’ stories, and when we do that, our craft is about heartfelt, other-centered service.
Learning to master the art and craft of singing will shape you into a strong, courageous, confident, artful, self-expressed powerhouse, and if you harness your talent, you a open channel for creativity to flow through you.

so many memorable performances

these are my personal favorites…

In 2019, a dream collaboration came true when I made my debut with LA Opera, Beth Morrison Projects, and the Prototype Festival in a world premiere opera entitled p r i s m by an all-female writing team with all-female producers. p r i s m and its composer Ellen Reid won the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2019, and I am thrilled to have been on the original cast recording.

I’m also passionate about giving voice to the work of living composers.  My world premieres include Child in the opera Upon This Handful of Earth by Gisle Kverndokk; Surprisingly Poetic Moments from an Otherwise Typical Hiking Guidebook, a song cycle by Abraham Z. Morrison written specifically for me based on my love of Yosemite National Park; and Trespass by the poet Sokunthary Svay & my frequent collaborator Pamela Stein-Lynde, about Sokunthary’s experience growing up as a refugee in New York City.

Since the launch of my solo career in 2016, my solo appearances in early music have included the modern-day premiere of Freschi’s Giuditta, numerous works by J. S. Bach, as well as his St. John’s Passion, St. Matthew Passion & B Minor Mass; Vivaldi’s In furore iustissimae irae & Dixit Dominus; Scarlatti’s Lidio e Clori; Handel’s Messiah & Dixit Dominus; Mozart’s Mass in C minor & Requiem; and Haydn’s Mariazeller Messe & Creation Mass.

I’ve also sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, the American Symphony Orchestra, the American Classical Orchestra, the Los Angeles Master Chorale, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, at the Bard Summerscape Music Festival, for the opening of The Shed in NYC, and I spent two seasons with the infamous Grammy-nominated Choir of Trinity Wall Street, the premiere choral ensemble in North America.

I’ve had the privilege singing with some of today’s most renowned during the choral artist chapter of my career.  My favorites have been the Oregon Bach Festival with Lars Ulrik Mortensen who directs Concerto Copenhagen; the Verbier Festival under Maestro Manfred Honeck; the Saltzurg Festival under Maestro Riccardo Muti; the Israel Philharmonic under Maestro Lorin Maazel, the New York Philharmonic under Maestro Alan Gilbert & Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, and the Mostly Mozart Festival with Maestro Louis Langrée.
